Quantum Gets Qed Up For Q Ball

The letter Q rarely gets the recognition it should. But without it what would people mind alongside their P’s, which letter would take over as U’s best friend, and how would James Bond get all those really cool gadgets? Fortunately, Quantum Theatre has always seen the star quality of Q and has been singing its praises for the past decade with their annual Q Ball.

The Q Ball: Hôt Qture will take place on March 15th, celebrating its tenth anniversary with a fashion theme. Entertainment will include performances by AquiTango and kNOTDance and a special installation combining the works of local fashion and theatre designers. Also in honor of this milestone, Quantum, with the help of Daria Sandburg, has commissioned nine local artists* plus four collaborating craftsman from the Pittsburgh Glass Center to create Q sculptures which will be displayed through out the city leading up to the benefit.

For readers interested in seeing the sculptures up close and personal, ranging from light boxes to mixed media marvels, check out this map with exact locations to help plan your tour. Once you’ve chosen your favorites, pick up your tickets to the Q Ball where the sculptures will be auctioned off with half of the proceeds going to support Quantum as they look forward to their next season.
